A small delegation of UBCM bartenders was in Singapore this August, to represent Macau for the prestigious Elite Bartenders Course and Asia Pacific Cocktail Championship organized by the Association of Bartenders & Sommeliers of Singapore.

The International Bartenders Association (IBA) Elite Bartenders Course also known, as the John White Course (JWC) is one of the most prestigious courses any bartender can have. It gathers professional bartenders from several countries every once a year, to learn and share ideas, which makes the level of experience and culture exchanging truly amazing. Proudly this year Miguel Seromenho and Ivo Ho were accepted and successfully completed the course. Dignifying Macau’s bartenders and permitting continued presence of UBCM in this yearly meeting. Our major goal is to develop our professionals and industry to international standards and we were very proud that Hong Kong citizen Jerry Li currently working and living in Macau won the Eagles Award Merit for courses best student.

The 22nd Asia Pacific Cocktail Championship saw for the first time Macau competing in both categories (Classic and Flair) thru the hands of Mark Bacoto and Winley Canillo both contestants did very good performances but faced strong competition from other countries like Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Korea and Hong Kong very well experienced in this event.
